This is a basic case for the AVR Dragon with mounted ZIF-Socket.
The AVR Dragon is delivered without a case so I designed one myself.
The AVR Dragon is a microcontroller programming device from ATMEL. (i.e. Arduino uses these microcontrollers)For details of this device see here: http://www.atmel.com/tools/avrdragon.aspx
So why is this case special?
Wing-Design for easy access
I mounted a ZIF-Socket to the AVR Dragon so the case is designed with a 'wing' to protect the ZIF-Socket and to have easy access to the microcontroller if mounted.
Status LEDs are still visible
In the case there are build in holes for the visibility of the Status-LEDs.
Snap together design
The top part and the bottom part of the case just snap into each other, no screws are needed.
Variable mounting options
The 'wing' of the case can be opened and closed and can be mounted in reverse direction. It can be removed without tools or force and can be closed in both positions of the ZIF-Socket, so to say when a microcontroller is mounted or not.
Available
I couldn't find any case designed for the AVR Dragon in any store. This one you can print on demand.
The attached photos show the parts of the case with my AVR Dragon and the different mounting possibilities of the 'wing'.
Thank you for visiting!
