Carus Unum

This is a dock I designed for the Carus Dock Challenge. The name, Unum, represents the company's first foray into a new market. Made from solid aluminum, this dock can charge a modern iPhone and an Apple Watch simultaneously and has an extra USB port for other devices. I took many design cues from Carus' existing products and strove to find a balance between conforming to the current style and adapting to the new area of docking solutions.

The split design helps the phone rest nearly vertically and the watch lay more horizontally. This also makes the base uniform and allows the stand to grow naturally from it. The curved design does not constrain the user to dock their watch in a certain way. The watch band can lay flush against the surface or be fed through the slot and connected on the other side
