Carus dual-dock Joshua Chung

Background
As inspired by the tree branches and simplified forms iteratively, it ends up with the asymmetric "T" shape to hold both i-devices. Since this dock charger is designed to put on the bedside or table top, it would be convenient to have a clock or alarm on it to quickly show the time or make wake-up calls. Night lighting is another handy function for finding ways when it is still dark.

Features
- Max Compatibility with Apple devices
It is compatible with iPhones with lightning connections (5/5c/5s/6/6 plus) with/without cases and Apple Watches (38mm/42mm) with either a sport band or stainless steel bracelet. The lighting connector can be rotated slightly to fit the increased thickness from iPhone cases. In addition, with the USB Type-C connector on the side, it can also provide power for MacBooks. It maximizes the charging needs for almost every Apple device.
- Hidden Lightning Charger
The iPhone charging connector is hidden in the base. It can be touch-opened by motor actuation or rotary damper (as shown in the figures and part number is listed below). With the motor actuation, it can be opened by either WiFi/Bluetooth like most wireless smart door locks (http://postscapes.com/wireless-door-locks) or capacitive touch sensors (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa576/slaa576.pdf) and closed when the phone is taken out. This design keeps the connector clean and free from dusts that may affect contacts when charging.
- Full Access to Phone Screen and Touch ID
The charger is designed to maximize the access to the screen and Touch ID without unplugging the device. As Touch ID is often used to unlock the phone, it would be convenient to have direct access to the sensor. In addition, since it might happen that checking messages or emails while charging, it would be better to have full screen access when plugged in.
- Fit for Unlimited Homes
As every home is so different, the switchable fabric cover allows homeowners to show their personality and merge to their home style with unlimited choices. They can have a sky blue jeans during summer and traditional red-green pattern for the Christmas decoration.
- Automatic Clock/Alarm Synchronization
The clock/alarm can be an additional option for people with needs to know the time instead of sliding on the phone. It can be automatically set up the time and synchronizing alarms when the phone is plugged in. To reduce the cost, I only use the 8x8 LED matrix here, but it can be upgraded to an LCD display for more information like weather or messages.
- Smart Indirect Night Lighting
The indirect night lighting can be turned on by the hidden motion sensor behind the "carus" brand.
