Carus Design Concept

My goals for this concept:

Less is more:
I already have lamps, drawers, speakers, weatherstation, tv's and a swiss army knife here at home, dont need any more...
But i dont have a charging station that at the same time protects those fragile apple cables.

Be able to lay the watch flat down while charging:
Cant see the idea of "unzipping" the watch and then "zipping" it back again before i can charge it.

Cover... Cover... And cover:
I dont know about you, but i have my phone in a cover to protect it.
Almost every docking/charging stations out there wont work/fit if your using a cover.

Easy and cheap to fabricate:
CNC millied alu stock and laser cutted rubber sheet.

Resemble Carus elegant and minimalistic product line.

Easy to make spin-off products.



My final concept consist of three parts:

A "simple" base, rubber cover to hold the cables in place and an aluminium holder for the iphone plug.



Flexibility:

A pretty simple scalable design.

Easy to remake as a wall mounted design.

The plug for the iphone can be raised and lowered to compensate for the height of the phone/cover.

The phone plug are tight fitted in its holder, and can therefore slide forwards and backwards,
to compensate for the covers thickness.

The base itself leaves plenty of space on all sides for future addons like an usb output for example.
