Carriage Stop for South Bend 9" Lathe. It may also fit a SB 10K lathe. It uses a standard 1/4-20 x 2" long hex head screw and a standard 1/4-20 nut.
IMPORTANT- This carriage stop does not have provisions for an electrical interlock, and these South Bend lathes do not have spindle brakes. It is very important that you never run the carriage into the stop under power feed. Something will definitely break, and it will probably be expensive (Murphy's Law). Always cut out the power feed before the stop and advance the last bit by hand.
The stop is as large as it is because it has provisions to mount a dial indicator in position to engage a flat spot on the carriage.
