Carnsore Wind Farm in the south-east of Ireland was completed in November 2002. The first wind farm on the east coast of Ireland, Carnsore Point consists of 14 Vestas 850kW wind turbines which combine to generate up to 11,900kW of renewable energy from Wexford's natural wind resource. Every year from now on this green energy will: Save the emission of more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2, the main greenhouse gas Save the emission of more than 400 tonnes of SOX Save the emission of more than 100 tonnes of NOX Produce enough green energy to meet the electricity needs of more than 10,000 homes Save the import of more than 7,220 tonnes of fossil fuel annually
