Cardinal-class medium cruiser

The Cardinal-class medium cruiser was a 475-meter long class of warship used by the Galactic Empire, manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems. The Cardinal-class has a rather bizarre design philosophy, having little resemblance in any way to the Star Destroyer line, apart from its distinctly sword-shaped hull. Its command bridge, while heavily resembling the command tower of the Vindicator-class heavy cruiser (as well as its two variants, the Immobilizer 418 cruiser, and the Enforcer-class picket cruiser), was situated at the center of the hull; a rare bridge configuration since the introduction of the Secutor-class Star Destroyer. While the rounded aft section of the Cardinal-class was dedicated almost entirely to its engine and power supply, the front section is a massive weapons platform. Armed with 16 light turbolasers, 10 light quad turbolasers, 24 point-defense laser cannons, 12 ion cannons and 2 tractor beam emitters, the Cardinal-class is a decently-armed vessel that fits well in its role as a support ship for larger vessels.
