These models were created as part of an undergraduate research program at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, USA with the end goal being the formation of a working capillary electrophoresis (CE) instrument. Future applications of the CE include urinalysis of the metabolites of acetylsalicylic acid breakdown in the body, cattle blood serum cortisol quantification, and DNA fingerprinting.
