My attempt to create a connector for the data port on my Digital Caliper / Dial Indicator.
All the holes on the model printed slightly under sized so I had to drill them all out after printing.
The Pin version uses 4 pins removed from a pin-strip (extra long, like Part:102838 from Pi Hut). The holes in the part should be slightly under-sized so the pins can be (carefully) forced through. Solder wires on to the pins before inserting them so the holes don't expand.
The wire version uses 4 cores from an ethernet cable (solid core). Thread the wire through from the back end of the connector using the large holes, then bend the wire back and through the holes at the top. Use a pair of pliers to pull the end tight.
The pin version is a little too delicate for me (with the wire I used) as the wires are easy to bend at the solder joint and will probably fail quicker than the other version. Adding heat shrink would probably help to relieve this but there isn't a lot of space between the pins.
The fusion models use user parameters for most of the geometry so holes and other sizes can be easily changed.
