This is a rare aircraft indeed. Only 5 Boeing 707-227s were ever constructed for Braniff International Airways (customer code 27), one of which, crashed before being delivered. Unlike the 707-120, the 707-227 was fitted with four JT4A turbojets that did not require water injection for takeoff power. The reason why no more 707-227s were sold was probably due to the advent of the 707-120B, which was powered by more efficient JT3D turbofans. This particular 707-227 was eventually sold to BWIA, the official airline of Trinidad and Tobago. Thanks to AirbusA330, AirplaneNerd777, TarikS and WilliamT. #707 #707100 #707120 #707200 #707220 #707227 #9YTDP #Airlines #Boeing #British #BWIA #Indies #West
