This part is designed to help prevent the dispenser lever from being pressed accidentally. I noticed that occasionally the door (or things in the door) of my fridge would accidentally press the lever when closing the door if the water dispenser wasn't far enough back on the shelf. Needless to say, I didn't want to accidently flood my fridge in this way, so I created this part to prevent that.
There seems to have been multiple revisions of this product. This item was designed to fit the current Canadian model of the dispenser (tall and narrow with rectangular dispensing lever). The current U.S. version appears similar and is probably compatible, although I have no way of testing (if you try it and it works, please let me know in the comments). I doubt it will properly fit on the short and wide version of the filter.
2018-04-19: Rotated part into proper orientation for printing. Previous orientation would've required extra support structures.
2018-04-14: Small revision (v1.1) to part to fit the profile of the pitcher better and prevent it from getting stuck on the dispenser lever.
