You can use this to hold down parts on a magnetic board. The holes on top are ready to be threaded 8-32. You then can adjust the 8-32 bolt for the height of you work. There are 3 holes to pick from. The magnets go into the slots. I use flat magnets with metal caps. 1" x .750" x .312" There is a hole for a 10-32 bolt to hold magnets. You are making this upside down. Once you put the magnet in it and turn it over you will see how it works
