This is a bridge and overhang test piece. It will test open space bridging from 5 to 15 mm and unsupported straight overhangs from 1 to 5 mm. The bridging and overhangs all take place at the same level off the bed to eliminate effects from the radiant heat of the bed for evaluating the different spans and extensions.
The files include a Cura pre-scaled (CS) and oriented print ready part and a source file that will import into a modeling program with scene units in inches and object units in mm's.
For me a 15 mm bridge exhibits almost no sagging (less that 0.1mm) and the 4 mm overhang was flat at the third layer (by 0.3mm total thickness). The 5 mm overhang was flat by the fourth layer and seems to be the practical limit for horizontal straight overhangs.
