This thing is a pair of brackets that are used to mount a micro-controller, thermocouple amplifier and a LiPo battery to the handle of a GeneCafe coffee roaster. These are used to measure and report the temperature of the beans inside of the roaster to help you roast better coffee. For more information on how this system works, visit www.roasthacker.com
The micro-controller is mounted to the bracket using four #2 machine screws and nuts. The thermocouple amplifier is mounted to the bracket using short pieces of 1.75mm filament, melting the ends to secure the board in place. The LiPo battery is attached to the battery clip using small zip ties. It then snaps onto the handle of the GeneCafe. The bracket attaches to the handle of the roast chamber using zip ties.
You must be very careful to mount the battery to the roaster in a way that ensures that it can not come in contact with the hot roast chamber. Overheated LiPo batteries cause fires.
