Zero Image, in Hong Kong, makes lovely hardwood pinhole cameras, and they have sold many thousands to photographers around the world. Their classic 6x6 pinhole camera, the "2000", is their most popular model and, like all Zero Image offerings, is available with all kinds of options and customization. These cameras are sturdy, reliable, and expensive. The hardware is all made from brass, presumably somewhere in the Hong Kong area. Zero Image are very much about the classic aesthetic of teak and brass, and their cameras age beautifully, well-loved and well-used...
But they only have one winding knob.
This is a flaw, in my opinion. Why would you want two knobs?
Oops, wound film too far!
Filmswaps!
Completely rewind film to unload camera
Blend adjacent frames
6x6? Advance film on right or left side!
Adjust film tension
Confirm advancing film
Knob drag to avoid fat rolls!
??
Until Zero Image adds a proper second knob as an option, I feel compelled to offer this alternate camera cap with two knobs and winders that will wind in either direction. I have them for sale in my Etsy Shop
NOTE: Zero Image pinhole camera parts are manufactured to a high degree of precision, which may not translate to identically dimensioned cameras when assembled at their factory. I have tried to duplicate the tolerances built into their design, but you may find the fit is snug in one of the corners. If this is an issue, contact me and I will advise.
This is designed to work with winders and knobs that I sell in my Etsy shoppe, but I plan to include FDM options for knobs and winders as well. Stay tuned!
