The box measures 104 x 64 x 36 mm or 4.1" x 2.5" x 1.4".
On the front there is a slit in which a 16x2 LCD display fits.
It was built using the rc1602b-ghw-csx LCD display. See http://www.tme.eu/en/details/rc1602b-c/lcd-alphanumeric-displays/raystar-optronics/rc1602b-ghw-csx/
The slit measures 72 x 26 mm or 2.8" x 1.0" which should fit most 16x2 LCD displays. For instance this one from DigiKey: http://www.digikey.nl/product-detail/en/newhaven-display-intl/NHD-0216BZ-FL-YBW/NHD-0216BZ-FL-YBW-ND/1701195
On top of the box one can place four buttons which can be printed as well. Inside the box there is room to place four micro push buttons on a standard PCB. There are holes to fix the PCB with five screws. I used the Nigini Tact-67N-F microswitches. See http://www.tme.eu/en/details/tact-67n-f/microswitches-tact-pcb/ninigi/
The last STL file holds the cover with an extra hole for an external wire.
I used the box to create a simple alarm clock (with an Atmel AVR micro-cpu), but it can be used for any electronics that needs to display some information and use a few basic buttons.
