Important note: This project is fairly out of date now. The Taz 6 is no longer being sold, the BLTouch is at version 3 (not compatible with firmware for version 2), and Marlin itself has moved way beyond this version.
If you want to view this as a conceptual starting point, fine. But unless you have all of the old stuff to use, I urge readers to look elsewhere. Time marches on!
==============================================================
Users of the LulzBot Taz 6 printer are sometimes frustrated by the autolevel function. In short, it requires a totally clean nozzle in order to make electrical contact with the pads at the corners of the bed. This doesn't always work, even with extra cleaning.
The BLTouch is a better way to autolevel the bed. Using the bracket provided here it attaches to the carriage of the printer. The height of the plunger may be accurately adjusted with the two cap screws.
A demonstration of the unit in action is available here: https://youtu.be/xx_Ge_LO5CE.
