As a show of force to prevent EPD anticapitulation, the FSR sent a shot from the superdestroyer to a non-populated planet in the EPD sector. Here you see the laser pounding into the planet and blowing up the atmosphere, making the gases blue hot from ionized plasma. This plasma can travel outward for about 7 lightyears and devastate the area for centuries. Any planets would become lifeless in the IONSPHR_ZONE.
