Friends have been know to stare at it for hours I personally have witnessed a fully grown man burn his Sausages and became so absolutely entranced by this amazing thing that his Beer became warm.
There might be a slight breeze blowing which is known to be unable to spin this thing don't worry its shiny and if printed in appropriate bright colours as sugested guests will still stare in awe at it and wait for the wind to pick up to experience the joy of the shiny thing spinning .
It is actually a huge CD windmill that does scare birds away from your garden birds and other pests don't like the moving shinny shadows that it creates.I am still working on the tail so it turns into the wind .
Make sure that you lubricate the hub before you put it together , I just used petroleum jelly to lube it used 12mmX3mm screws and nuts for the arms. The centre bolt is a roofing bolt 3/16 X 3 inch as it was all i had the time .You will need to drill out the hub cap and the hub to accomodate the centre bolt as i have to resize it.
You will also need 16X CD or DVD back to back to make it shine both sides .
I am currently designing a new HUB at a bigger angle i used 50 degrees for the arms but it seems to need too much wind to make it rotate .Hopefully a bigger angle will make it spin in lower wind speeds.
