Can be used with both 1.75mm and 3mm filament in case you've modified your printer
The suffix 30x3.5 is a thread size, only those with this suffix are compatible. Same goes to no suffix.
The holes on my original guide holder were too big and made the guide relatively useless, so.. I decided to upgrade the guide to also clean my filament as clogs from dust build up has been an issue for me.
I cut an old 100% cotton T-shirt and wrapped it (as displayed in the photos) around the filament to clean it as it passes through. I did not use cotton balls because cheap ones will fall apart and move with the filament into the extruder clogging it more than just dust alone. Also if you use the right amount of cloth you can change the filament relatively easily without having to readjust the cloth every time. However, in my house dust builds up fairly quickly so after about a spool of filament I readjust the cloth anyway.
Room for improvement
When designing the piece I was more concerned about strength, easily printable threads, and hole spacing, so I overlooked the overall height of the piece. The top tips of the base structure are actually taller than the metal frame of the BIBO - if you are a little OCD about everything being flush then go ahead and modify the design. I don't actually mind them being taller because it keeps my acrylic topper from being pulled off the back of the machine.
On the flip side there is plenty of room to mount a filament-run-out-sensor either above or below the cleaner threads.
