Cass Gilbert’s Battle Hall, Spanish-Mediterranean Revival in style, originally served as the main library for the University of Texas. It is now the Architecture and Planning Library. Gilbert served as UT Austin’s university architect from 1909 to1922, and this building and his Sutton Hall (1918) helped establish the architectural style of the school. Battle Hall is on the National Register of Historic Places and widely recognized as one of the finest structures in Texas. #AIA150 #Architecture #Austin #Battle_Hall #Cass_Gilbert #Texas #University_of_Texas
