Getting your 3D printer dialed to the right settings is paramount for creating functional prints that often require dynamic part assemblies. Here are a few simple ball joint tolerance calibration test models for your 3D printer, to get your print settings right the first time.
A nominal ball end can be tested with the sockets with an incremental fit tolerance. The numbers in the file names indicate the fit tolerance in millimeters. For example, 0-05_TOL indicates that the socket is 0.05 millimeters larger than the ball end. Models for the following fit tolerances have been uploaded.
0.05 MM [~ 2 Thou]
0.10 MM [~ 4 Thou]
0.15 MM [~ 6 Thou]
0.20 MM [~ 8 Thou]
The models can take anywhere between 25 minutes to 45 minutes to print depending on your print settings and the number of models you want to print. Printing the models upright is advised as the models do not require support to print.
