I wanted to follow the tutorial to make my own balancing bot. I didn't have the tools or material to create a frame but I did have a computer and a 3D printer.

Very educational project. Many possibilities and options on how you program it!
I configured mine to accept PWM commands from my boat remote control radio receiver. I cut a piece of bicycle inner tube and stretched it over the tires to get grip on smooth surfaces. There is also a ZIP file of the Solidworks models if you would like to edit the design.
I prefer using Youmagine over thingiverse but I know many people still use thingiverse so I'm linking to the project:
