B2W Digital is an e-commerce company created at the end of 2006 by the merger of Submarino, Shoptime, Americanas.com. B2W Digital is a publicly traded company on the Brazilian stock exchange, B3, ticker BTOW3. Lojas Americanas controls the group, holding more than 60% of the share capital; the remaining shares are an integral part of the free float. The Company's shares are traded under the code BTOW3 on B3, in the Novo Mercado segment, which has the highest Corporate Governance index in Brazil. The new company was born with about 50% of the online sales sector in the country, with strong prospects for expansion in various distribution channels, with the objective of competing with the largest companies in traditional retail. The new company started operations in 2006, with a market value of around R$6.5 billion, making it the third largest in the sector in the world. B2W Digital is the leader in e-commerce in Latin America. The Company operates through a digital platform, with businesses that present strong synergies and a single, multichannel, multibrand and multibusiness model. B2W Digital has a portfolio with the brands Americanas Empresas, Americanas.com, Submarino, Shoptime, Submarino Finance and Sou Barato, which offer more than 38 categories of products and services through internet distribution channels, telesales, catalogs, TV and kiosks. In 2017, they had 10,000 registered sellers, with a growth of about 2,000 new tenants per quarter. At the end of 2019, the company announced new ventures, such as the opening of seven more distribution centers, in addition to the current 15, by 2022; a partnership between Ame and Stone; and opening an office in China to operate online sales of foreign products in the Asian country, based on the Americans in the World activity.
