We have made several printers (3 iterations and 85+ printers) and have been working from the P3Steel frame. We changed and added features to the very nicely designed frame Leonardo. We have included the x-axis from the Alu. version but made it in 3 mm stainless steel (ASTM304).
A very special thank to Jakob for handling the drawings, and all others for input and suggestions grand job to you all.
We have called it the AUP3Steel and added/changed:
0) Distributed into individual drawings and added the laser cut x-axis as standard to the frame.
1) "Flaps" and mounting holes for smooth rod for the y axis.
2) Mounting holed for Ramps 1.4 and Melzi boards on the side panels (due to asymmetry it only bolts on the right side of the plates).
3) Added holes for mounting "whatever design" to hold the threaded rod and smooth rod for the z axis.
4) Removed the press nut for the z xais - now you have to tread the two plates.
5) Added mounting holes on the x-sled (bolting on extrudes), holes for mounting sensors on the x-axis.
6) one or two things I have forgotten... Mostly extra holes here and there.
All files are in PDF and DXF for sending directly for Laser cutting or modification if you feel like
