This is an Aquarium Cooler to hang on to your aquarium and cool it :). There are some you can buy, but I wanted to make my own one. I hadn´t had time to print it yet. I don´t know if it fits together.
I like this hang on design more than the ones you stick on your aquarium glass and it stands up. With this hang on cooler the fan and all the rest can be hid behind the aquarium and you basicly only see the top sticking over the glass.
I already build one out of acrylic and used it to cool my 30L nano cube over the summer. I live directly under the roof and it got 35-37°C in the summer, with my previously built cooler i was able to keep my aquarium at 25-27°C. The downside is that you have to refill it every 1 or 2 days with osmosis water to keep the right waterlevel and water parameters..
17.09.18-UPDATE:
I´ve printed the upper part and uploaded some pics. Turned out fairly well. I printed it as it is shown in the preview, with conical supports. The supports were quite easy to remove.
19.09.18-UPDATE:
So I printed the lower part (Cooler part I ) and it was a pain to remove the supports. I now edited the part and removed the case where the fan was supposed to sit in. I also made a few changes to the upper part. Both new parts are named "vers. 2".
26:03.2020-UPDATE:
As requested I made a top part ( cooler part II ) for 8mm glass. I also added in some holes to counter the capillary effect in both the 5mm and 8mm version ( named them "vers 3"
