To use it for catching bugs in an aquarium: Put some fish food or similar in it, and put in the aquarium in the evening. Wait till the morning to take it out. This is to catch bugs that crawl in to the food in the trap and stays there, like planaria, Hyalella azteca (scuds) or Lumbriculus variegatus (blackworms). The idea is that the bugs, once in, will want to stay in the trap as long as there is food for them there, or it is to bright light outside the trap.
To use it for harvesting microworms from a culture: Use the lid as a base to put the open trap on. The gyroid pattern gives the microworms a lot of surface area that is easy for them to crawl up on. It takes time but the worms will crawl will up, and then you can harvest them just by rinsing them of from the trap in water.
