Anfield as it was in 1989 prior to the Hillsborough disaster. The Anfield road and Paddock have been changed to seating apart from a small section left for away supporters giving them a choice to stand or sit. The Shankly gates have also been installed and were opened for the first time on the 26th August 1982 by his wife Nessie Shankly. A year later Liverpool’s most successful manager Bob Paisley retired his impressive trophy haul included 6 league titles and 3 European cups the FA cup was the only trophy he did not win.
