Most frame braces try to stabilize the z-axis by reinforcing the acrylic parts among each other. If you already placed your printer in a solid enclosure, you have the perfect opportunity to easily eliminate all motion induced by motion on the x-axis completely.
Like many others, my printer is installed in an IKEA Lack housing, so it is designed to fit this height (50 cm). However, i added elongated holes, so it can be used for heights from 49.5 cm to 50.5 cm (i have an anti-slip mat under my printer, so that works, too).
The struts are mounted between the acrylic top frame and the display board, replacing the stock plastic spacers. The preferred way to install it is with the flat side to the back, so you have easy access to the screws on the upper side. The files are named [L] and [R] respectively.
Some pros:
The struts don’t restrict your print area
It won't budge. I even have to wall-mount my table to keep the printer from moving it (showing how bad the A8 needs reinforcements)
It's a simple print. You won't use a lot material and it should print in less than 2 hours (each)
It's compatible with most other mods. I haven't seen too many using the display screw holes - mostly spool holders, which are out of the question anyway when using enclosures
Some cons:
It's fixed in height. I'm working on a customizable / adjustable version
Important note: This design is intended for the 5 button display. It won’t fit the jog dial version.
FYI
The photos show an early version when i just wanted to check dimensions with some excess medium quality filament - the struts are different and not filleted... will update anytime soon. In the meantime: feel invited to print and test it for yourself.
