This is a spool holder that was designed by Neil Rosenberg for the Anet A8, based off his spool holder for his other 3D printer he designed, the X-Drive.
Uses 0.75" OD PVC Pipe and attaches using the 2 m3 screws on the top-left of the printer.
Having the spool overhead drastically decreases the amount of strain on both the filament and extruder.
UPDATE November 2017:
I Remade the Spool Holder Cap so that the text says "A8" instead of XD, and made it a Extruded Cut instead of an Extrude, so that it can be printed face-down.
