This upgrade (or any x-tensioner upgrade), together with a y-tensioner upgrade and toothed idler pulley (in both x and y) are three of the most important upgrades to your Anet 3d printer. You will see an improvement in print quality (see photo attached) once you get the tension of your belt right in both axes.
The following features are added to the original part:
The part can be printed without any support
Enlarge pulley compartment to fit larger metal idler pulley
Add spacer around pulley mounting to provide clearance and minimize binding to the pulley
Add through-hole to allow access to the screw head in the slot; however a version without the hole is included if you prefer
You will need the following parts to complete the assembly:
1 x metal Idler pulley (GT2 16T 3mm bore) - can be sourced online for about USD1.00
1 x M3x18 screw - to mount the pulley (spare from kit)
1 x M3 nut - to secure the mounting screw to the tensioner (spare from kit)
1 x M3x30 screw - tension adjustment screw which goes to the slot in the tensioner (spare from kit)
1 x washer - to provide additional support for the adjustment screw against the tensioner
1 x M3 wing nut - to pull the adjustment screw (spare from kit)
The following are optional in case you prefer a secured adjustment screw; in my opinion this is not necessary as there are not enough clearance for the screw to separate from the slot in the tensioner once all the parts are assembled.
1 x m3 nut - to secure the adjustment screw to the tensioner (spare from kit)
1 x washer - to provide support between the nut and the tensioner
Enjoy!
