I've seen this great clock at the Roues Libres exhibition during Designers’ Days 2014 in Paris (Designer Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto - BCXSY [1]) and I was thinking: I have to built my own personal version of this fascinating clock. I first built the clock in wood (more than 0.5 m in height) but it was to heavy for a cheap clockwork. Now with a 3D-printer I was able to design and print a lighter one which works with cheap clockworks for 1-2 Euro. The ammonoidea-shaped pointer is fitted at the clockwork-indicator position for the hour-pointer.
What else you need: A standard clockwork (I used this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Weiss-Quarz-Uhrwerk-Movement-Quartzuhrwerk-Mechanism-Mit-3-Zeigersaetzen-4-/141287149980?ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:DE:3160 )
Note: You should print the lines and numbers with a lower scaling factor (for fitting in the housing)
Other remarks:
Ammonoidea = fossil snail

Because of the size of my printer (220x220x230mm) the numbers are a bit too small to read (height only 5.2 mm). But who cares?! It's art and beautiful to look at. :)
