The LCD that came with my Tronxy X5S had a janky lcd panel, plus the components for the SD card slot are not populated - the stock Melzi control board has a microSD card slot in it, but I have replaced that with an MKS Gen so that I can use TMC2130 drivers.
Seeing no mount for the 12864 LCD with the more common layout, I designed my own specifically for this printer. I think it looks great, and it's a solid mount for the new LCD; but most importantly, now I can use an SD card again. If only Octoprint could queue up commands fast enough to be on par with the card... oh well.
You'll need twelve pieces of hardware.
4 M3 screws, 10 to 16mm long.
4 M4 screws, 8 to 12 mm long
4 drop-in T-nuts for M4 screws
The X5S should come with lots of spare hardware making this not too hard to put together. At least, mine did. Three of the M4 screws and T-Nuts are already used for mounting the stock LCD.
The LCD just gets sandwiched between the base mount and the face place. There are pegs that clamp on the LCD's screw holes.
