On 1970 Alitalia becomes the first EU company with an 'all jet fleet', made of a total of 72 aircrafts. In 1977 Alitalia planes fly with Landor livery (the green one in use from 1970 to 2005). In particular, for long haul, the 9 Douglas DC-8/62 (1967-1981) were joined by a wide-body fleet, consisting of 2 Boeing 747-143 (1970-1981), 3 Boeing 747/243 (1971-2004) ), soon joined by 8 McDonnell Douglas DC-10/30 (1973-1985), for a total of 22 aircraft at the end of 1977. For the short / medium range, 7 Douglas DC-8/43 (1960-1977), 9 Sud Aviation CARAVELLE SE-210 (1960-1977) and 27 Douglas DC-9/32 (1967-1994) were still in service and starting in 1976, 7 new Boeing 727/243s (1976-1985) came into the fleet. Here you can find only narrow-body and medium-range aircraft in green 1970 Landor livery, all witout interiors: Douglas DC-8/43 (1960-1977), Douglas DC-8/62 (1967-1981), Sud Aviation CARAVELLE SE-210 (1960-1977), Douglas DC-9/32 (1967-1994) and the new Boeing 727/243 (1976-1985).
