This is a test of some software I wrote to convert a gray scale image to vertical profile. I drew the image in Powerpoint, made it into a 200 by 200 pixel image and then the software converted it to a "coin" and then I printed using the output stl file. I am thinking I would print a obverse and reverse separately and then glue them together back to back.
If any of you clever coders out there want, take my source code and modify it to minimize the number of triangles by combining contiguous triangles in flat portions. I just do a dumb and simple triangulation of the pixel posts - quick and dirty but files can be large and can take a long time to process. If you add that feature, send that back to me - I would appreciate it greatly! (as you can tell I am somewhat lazy :-) )
