Hi.
If you often take out your E36 glovebox and the aircond vent, eventually you'll break off the original. I have made an almost exact copy of the original arms, the vent joint and the knob for you to use.
There are two versions of the arm, one with the near original connectors and one to be used with the plug. The near original connectors are a bit hard to print (you'll need to use 0.2mm nozzle or lower) because it needs to be very precise. Even then, it may still break if you remove it and try to attach it again because of the very thin body at the connectors.
The plug version is better, just print the plug separately and insert it into the long arm. Then you secure it by melting the other side either with a lighter or with a soldering iron. Then it will never come out again.
I printed this in PLA, and it has been fine. But its recommended you use PETG or ABS because the inside of a car can get really hot due to the greenhouse effect.
Enjoy!
