If you have an aero frame bike you would probably have found it challenging getting lights etc. to stay put on the seat post.
I designed this adapter to firmly secure my rear light and a MTB rear mudguard.
It converts the 5mm radius thin end of the post to a 22mm diameter. This prevents my attachments from pivoting to the side - not such a problem with my moon taillight, but essential to the mudguard.
I designed it to be printed in vase mode, as this produces a very light and strong piece with an excellent finish, however it can be sliced in the usual way if you wish.
When printing in vase mode it is desirable that the open end be secured, or it can twist and collapse. For this reason I have included an end cap which should be superglued to the open end of the adapter. For maximum strength squeeze a few drops of superglue down into the cavity before you glue the end on.
There are several versions included, a short (25mm) and long (37mm) version, and also a 25mm version which includes a strengthening flange that should remove the need to fit an end cap. This version is useful if your attachment must sit right against the seat post.
Parts are:
SeatPostAdapterBtm3.stl - End Cap for hollow printed adapters
SeatPostAdapterV4.1.stl - Strengthened 25mm seat post adapter
SeatPostAdapterV3.1.stl - Hollow 25mm seat post adapter
SeatPostAdapterLong.1.stl - Hollow 37mm seat post adapter
Note - these are hollow only when printed in vase mode - otherwise they are solid.
If using vase mode, please use 0.2mm layers, and specify 6 bottom layers for all parts.
