AATO (Acme Acres) 'The Odyssey' R33 'Greenstripe' Subway Cars

A two-car set of R33 subway cars wearing the 'Odyssey' slogan used by the Acme Acres Transit Office since 1995. The R33s, which were also used in New York, were the results of the Acme Acres subway system's postwar modernization plan in the 1950's. These trains, which have been nicknamed by railfans and even daily commuters as 'greenstripes' due to their livery, operated until the last R33 was retired in February 2004. The livery shown here was the very last livery the 'greenstripes' wore and were also remembered for the loud banging noises made by the doors when they closed. Includes an interior with seats, a furnished motorman's cab, system map and blank advertisement spaces. Special thanks to MARCR for the original subway car.
