Here is a design that also uses bent metal as its primary manufacture however the main work surface is ply wood. The plywood can be laser cut providing a great branding oportunity. The plywood has a traditional feel and texture of a work bench.

I wanted the design to be a little quirky - have some character - and though it falls short of being a minion I do think it expresses a bit of personality. I tried to feed it a papple - just not interested.

When it comes to products like this I like to avoid anything that detaches from or has to be removed to store or close it as it will inevitably get lost.

The top lid has a flap backed with a medium density foam. the foam securly holds the tools magnetically attached to the tray in place and the flap in place during transit. The whole idea for a workbench like this is that you can get set up and tuning your bike with minimum of fuss so after a few kms (miles) down corrugated tracks your tools are still arrayed as they were when last placed against the magnet.

Felt lined runners for the tray provide a dust barrier and a smoothe surface on which the tray can slide return bend on the trays top lip provide the mating surface and also provide extra ridgidity.

the unit has key hole slots on the rear to possibly attach to the wall but the wall would need to be quite strong to facilitate the torque. With the lid closed a padlock can be used to lock the unit . the flange inhibits the trays staple to be pulled back when closed so a padlock would prevent access to both the lid and tray.

Enjoy
