The Federation of Workers Educational Associations in Aotearoa New Zealand (FWEA) comprises the nation-wide FWEA Book Discussion Scheme and the eight independently constituted WEAs in Auckland, Waitakere, Manawatu, Kapiti, Hutt City, Wellington, Canterbury and Southland. The FWEA's mission is to advance, encourage and provide adult and continuing education, which promotes a just and equitable society in accordance with Te Tiriti o Waitangi / the Treaty of Waitangi. The FWEA supports the WEAs and the nation-wide FWEA Book Discussion Scheme in their provision of accessible, high quality adult and community education, responsive to the ever-changing needs of their communities.
