This device was made to be very user friendly, all of its main features revolve around this idea.

Improved feedback visibility:

Whole case lights up whenever feedback is sent to the user. This is possible because the bottom part of the casing is made of semi-translucent polycarbonate plastic. It also has a texture to help scatter the light.

Color meaning (as shown in .gif):
1. Permit — blink green
2. Deny — blink red
3. Bluetooth established — double blink blue
4. Low battery — blink yellow every 30 seconds
5. On/Off/Sleep — Any variation of colors listed above

Very clean design:

Since there are no separate LED indicators the device looks particularly clean, it also makes it less confusing to new users as it is very simple. The power switch is located at the back of the reader, in its own slot, away from the main view.

Ergonomics:

The device has a size and shape perfectly matched to fit every hand. Magnetic stripe reader slot is also conveniently located at the top. The power switch is just barely protruding to avoid accidental, but still allow for easy switching.

Manufacturability:

Every component can be made with a simple injection molding operation. Every part is a straight pull design (no undercuts). Both stand and wall mount can be made by bending acrylic sheets. Case and battery lid comes apart with screws.
