I had to find a way to mount a 60mm fan on a 40mm slot on my 3D Printer, but none I found would have fit properly without either getting stuck on other parts on the 3D printer or did not provide sufficient airflow.
This design has a 30-degree bend of the air-pipe, with extra spacing to be able to attach it to any current 40mm mount.
Edit:
After testing the first design I realised that the short length of the radius conversion forced the air to not flow properly, this has been adjusted with a longer conversion part.
Also noticed that the screws were quite difficult to screw in, leading me to make the pipe longer and slightly more curved.
Due to the length of the pipe, I added loops for Zipties for any cabling from the fan.
Edit 2:
Since a couple of people had already added this to a "print later" kind of thing, I'm re-adding my first version, Do note, the 40mm socket part can be hard to mount due to problematic access with tools, and the airflow issue stated in the first Edit.
End of Edit.
60mm fans are required for this.
This was designed with the idea to install a 60mmx25mm Noctua Fan to provide sufficient airflow to cool down filament, where a 40mmx10mm Noctua fan does not provide sufficient airflow.
