This model is of the Hungarian medium tank called the Turán II (often spelled 'Turan'). The Turán II was designed in 1943 when Hungarian engineers modified the older Turán I in order to more effectively combat Russian T-34's and KV-1's. The Turán II is nearly identical to the Turán I, however, the turret was made larger to accommodate for the larger 75 mm gun. The new gun also produced notably more fumes than the older gun when fired, resulting in extra ventilation being installed. 139 Turán II's were produced from 1943 to 1944, ending when the Soviets occupied Hungary. Of the 139 produced, only 1 remains. It is currently in the Kubinka Tank museum in Russia. The changes made from the Turán I took approximately 2 days to model.
