40MM NATO to AOSafety R5700 8051 Bayonet Adapter
This is a prototype design for 40 MM NATO, gas mask thread, to AOSafety R5700 8051 bayonet adapter, originally requested by glaucolago. Created to make older respirator AOS 8051 filter cartridges compatible with full face CBRN maks.
Part Description:
40MM_TO_AOS_R5700_8051_BAYONET_ADAPTER_MONO.stl
Single piece construction, as there are no clocking requirements for AOS 8051 circular cartridges.
40MM_TO_AOS_R5700_8051_BAYONET_ADAPTER_INNER_SHELL_LOW.stl
40MM_TO_AOS_R5700_8051_BAYONET_ADAPTER_OUTER_SHELL_LOW.stl
Two piece construction, not for clocking purposes, but to allow cross compatibility to outer shell of previous Gen 4 40 MM to 3M bayonet adapter. Tolerance are more forgiving, lower, to enable ease of 3D printer variation.
40MM_TO_AOS_R5700_8051_BAYONET_ADAPTER_INNER_SHELL_HIGH.stl
40MM_TO_AOS_R5700_8051_BAYONET_ADAPTER_OUTER_SHELL_HIGH.stl
Two piece construction, not for clocking purposes, but to allow cross compatibility to previous outer shell of Gen 3 40 MM to 3M bayonent adapter. Higher tolerance parts requiring proper scaling and calibrated 3D printer.
Disclaimers/Risks:
1.) Requires gasket/o-ring, below bayonet to ensure proper seal between cartridge and bayonet. Source some washer or O-ring that is nominal ID 31.115 mm or 1.225 in.
2.) 3D printing materials are not resistant to many solvents, are water soluble, and degrade when exposed to chemicals. 3D printing this adapter is only a temporarily ad-hoc solution against biological threats. Once supply chain return to normal users should purchase OEM OSHA/NIOSH/EN standard approved adapters and respirator accessories.
Dev. Notes:
04/06/2020 - Initial model release. In work, pending support and feedback from 3D printing community for any fitment and model revisions.
