Do you have a 3M tape machine?
These machines are pretty common in factories taping the box closed before it gets stacked onto a pallet.
This little finger will bolt into the square aluminum plate that is right before the applying roller in a 3M accuglide tape head.,.
This won't do much for you on the upper head, but on the lower head, it makes a huge difference. Bolt this finger to the plate from the back side, so the shark fin pokes through the slot. You'll need a tiny nut and flat head screw, like 2mm or 3mm. This gives the tape a convex shape so it will hold itself up and it won't fall over.
Also, the 2 metal tabs with the slot in them, bend those down, towards the tape. The adhesive side of the tape is up right there and if those tabs are bent out, then there is too much surface area for the adhesive to grab on to. By bending the tabs down, just the tips of the tabs come into contact with the adhesive and help hold the tape down in the convex shape with minimal adhesive contact.
While I'm at it I'll tell you to lubricate the felt pad that covers the blade, once a week or so, with a light weight oil like 3 in 1 oil. This keeps the blade lubricated and helps minimize tape build up on the blade.
Send me a message if you want a 3M tape head maintenance and adjustment training class. It's what I do. Its one of the things I do.
There are 4 fingers on a common brim for easy printing. Cut apart post print.
I printed these in ABS and in PETG, both at 100% infill for strength.
