The puller wheels are a wear item and can be costly to replace, especially if you need to pay for international shipping. This design aims to be a more affordable, drop-in replacement using a printed TPU/TPE tread and a deflanged 20T GT2 pulley with a 5mm bore. As an added bonus, future tread replacements are made quick and easy since the tread can be replaced without removing the pulley from the motor shaft.
The only additional part required for this mod is a 20T GT2 pulley with a 5mm bore, which are commonly used on 3D printers. You'll need to remove the flange yourself with a bottle opener.
The tread should be printed in the softest TPU or TPE filament you can get. I used eSUN eLastic (Shore hardness of 85A) and verified that it functions.
The stepper motor shaft (at least in my unit) does not have a flat for securing set screws, so I would recommend using two set screws and low strength thread locker.
