I want to make a cable release for shooting timelapse photos while printing.https://youtu.be/T40UcCUO5e0
Required:
1.A smartphone with a 3.5 mm headphone jack
Apple Earpods
M4 Screw (8mm or 10mm), M4 T nut
small tripods
Flow:
Open the smartphone's camera app
Press "value up/down" to trigger the shutter
Print this model, put the earpod on as the photo shown
Fix this model at the y track. Or any position on the aluminum extrusion.
Measure the trigger position by slowing moving the car.
e.g. y=159 will trigger the camera
Add "G1 X0 Y159 F9000" at "Layer changing script" in our model slicer tool.
On Cura:
Extensions > Post Processing > Modify G-code
Add a script > Time Lapse
Set x and y position
On Simplify3d:
Edit Process Settings > Scripts > Layer Change Script
add "G1 X0 Y159 F9000"
