AKA the world's most ridiculous iPhone case! This attaches to your iPhone 6 or 6s and allows you to scan 35mm film negatives.
Autodesk inventor source files are included.
Assembly
Print one of each part. Probably best to print with an opaque filament.
You will also need:
10 M3 nuts and 10 M3x16 screws (other lengths may work too)
A piece of a suitable diffuser material, and some glue to attach it to the inside of the diffuser box. I used some paper vellum. Cut to fit in the 50x62mm rectangular hole.
A suitable convex or biconvex lens. I used one with a diameter of 25mm and a focal length of 45mm. You can find these cheaply on eBay sold for Google Cardboard.
The lens is necessary because of the relatively long minimum focal distance of the phone's camera. Alternatively the spacer could be lengthened, but this means the negative will take up less of the frame, wasting available resolution. Using a simple (bi)convex lens does introduce some pincushion distortion, but this is easily corrected with GIMP or Photoshop.
Work in progress! To do list:
Combine the negative frame and spacer into one part
Design an LED light fixture to attach to the diffuser box
