Have a Monoprice Select Mini 3D Printer? Want some extra cooling for your controller board? Hate or don't have any screws or standoffs? Have an extra 30mm fan? Then this bracket is for you. A mashup of a Thingiverse design and one I found on Hackaday, this extremely rudimentary fan holder nevertheless holds a fan over the controller board and therefore does its job.
What you need:
A 30mm fan
A Monoprice MP Select Mini 3D printer
Some rigid filament of some kind
Here's an FAQ for the curious:
Q: There are other perfectly good, far more attractive solutions to extra cooling for the controller board, like this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1867169 Why did you do this?
A: That one requires long screws. Another nice one requires standoffs. I don't have those.
Q: Wouldn't a 40mm fan be better?
A: Almost certainly, but I do not have one. I ordered one from AliExpress, but who knows when that will arrive. The 30mm spare got here sooner.
Q: OK, fine, then why not use this 30mm fan version, based on the same thing you ripped off? https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1697704
A: One, I did not feel like using screws. Two, I did not see that until I was writing this FAQ.
Q: Doesn't this look kinda ghetto?
A: Yes, but I made it in TinkerCAD because I cannot figure out any other CAD software. It works and nobody will see it.
Q: What did you use to print this?
A: Bamtack white PLA at 200 degrees on blue tape, no heated bed.
Q: Which one did you rip off that was not on Thingiverse?
A: You can find it at https://hackaday.io/project/12371/files
