I purchased a few THSL-300-8D Z-Axis threaded rod upgrades for a bunch of Prusa i3 DIY clones I built. The trapezoidal TR8 screw nuts @ 22mm wide, did not fit the Prusa Z-Axis parts as they were smaller then the ones Prusa uses.
I hunted for the proper sized TR8 sized nuts and nothing, nada, bub-kiss... Not wanting to reprint the ABS parts, I just decided to build a simple adapter. Taking a nod from Tom Sanladerer's "Z-Axis nut Holdah" for 5mm threaded rods on his Dolly i3 Clone, I remixed his nut holder to fit the TR8 trapezoidal nut, included 2xM3 nut recesses on the bottom and 2xM3 bolt/cap recesses on the top.
Basically, push the nuts into the underside, screw the adapter into the Z-Axis threaded rod slots and use a pair of M3x6mm or 7mm cap bolts to secure the whole thing into place. If you can't find the right size M3 bolts, pretty much any near size and some M3 washers will due just fine.
One small trick to get the nuts in easier, as the recesses are intentionally a tight fit, place an M3 bolt with a washer through the top side of the adapter, screw the nut on the shaft, guide the nut into the recess and tighten the bolt, the nut will work it's way into the recess real easy as you tighten the bolt.
